Great News

We finally got the EEG results today.  Apparently what took so long is the neurology office had to have a referral to read the EEG.  They had a referral to administer it, but not read it.  Who knew?!?!  To add to that the 'referral lady' was on vacation and the request was sitting on her desk the whole time.  I finally called Magnolia's wonderful PCP's nurse and she took care of it all.  I'm so thankful for the wonderful people we have in our lives that go above and beyond their normal duties to make sure things get done.

We received great news. The neurologist said her EEG looked normal and he did not see any seizure activity.  We were thrilled to hear that.  Magnolia has also decided to start tracking again, not as well as she once did, but at least she has started again.

Magnolia was 20 weeks old yesterday.  We did her weekly weight check today and she weighs 7lbs 7oz!

So sweet

The picture on the left was taken when Magnolia was only 18 days old.  The one on the right was taken tonight.  It won't be long before Toller has a hard time holding Magnolia because she is so big.

Finally 7lbs

Magnolia had an EEG on 2.14.  We do not have the results yet.  I'll post as soon as we hear something.  Here is a pic of us leaving the clinic.  Her head was so goopy we covered it with a burp rag so she would not get her car seat sticky.  She looks really calm however you should have seen her, or better yet heard her, while the nice lady was sticking the electrodes all over her head.  Thankfully she went to sleep once it started.

After the EEG
Magnolia weighs 7lbs 4ounces.  She is making occasional eye contact and will sometimes give us a smile.  She is getting better with neck control, but still has a long way to go.  She was doing a great job tracking some black/white and red toys until recently, one of the reasons we had the EEG.  She is rolling from her side to her back and from her back to her side in both directions.  She is not the biggest fan of tummy time unless it is on someone, then it is her favorite place to be.  She has changed so much in the last couple of months.  She is wearing newborn clothes though they are too big in the waist and almost too short in the legs.

Check out our new hat.

Looking alike

I am always hearing how much Magnolia looks like Toller. I do agree there are times when I look at her and see him.  She definitely has some of his mannerisms already.  When she was still in the NICU and just a couple of days old we caught her sleeping like this.  Just like her big brother.

Then I check the blog updates from our WHS friends and I can't believe how much Magnolia looks like so many of their baby pictures. I realize that all of these kids have this syndrome and that it carries a very distinct 'look', but it still shocks me how much they look alike.  Looking at these amazing kids always makes me smile!  They are the most adorable kids and they are all doing such unbelievable things!  They are doing them at their own pace, but they are doing them!!  I want to thank each one of them for sharing their journeys with us.  When we have therapy or doctor appointments they often ask us questions about her development like:  Is she consistently tracking objects? Is she making eye contact? Is she smiling? Is she pulling her legs up? Does she have head control?  Because of our WHS friends I find myself answering 'not yet' to doctor's questions with a smile on my face instead of answering 'no' with tears in my eyes!!!!  THANK YOU!

4 months old

Magnolia turned 4 months old yesterday!  It has gone by incredibly fast.

Magnolia currently weighs 6 lbs 15 ounces.  At night she is taking an infusion of breast milk/Neosure (24 calories/oz) at 28mls an hour over 8 hours.  All of her day feedings are by bottle.  We mix half breast milk and half Special Care 24 calorie/oz formula.  She is growing at a steady rate and we couldn't be happier.  Here are some 4 month pictures.
Such a sweet smile.

She loves her hands.

Daddy's little girl.

She looks so fat in this picture.
